The Greater New York Chapter is the founding chapter of the AFP. The Planned Giving Group of Greater New York (PPGGNY) is a membership organization that promotes the concept of charitable gift planning, provides educational opportunities and advocates on behalf of the gift planning profession. The Association of Development Officers (ADO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of fundraising and philanthropy in the Hudson Valley Region. Women in Development (WID), New York is a membership organization whose mission is to maintain a supportive and collegial network through which women in development and related fields can assist one another’s professional growth. Through its programs and services, WID, New York affords women at all levels of the profession the opportunity to augment professional training and expand career opportunities. Members are dedicated to the advancement of women in their fundraising careers, while upholding the highest professional standards.

Young Development Professionals of New York City (YDPNYC) is a non-profit networking organization. Its goal is to provide career advancement and mentoring opportunities for young people committed to fundraising for the arts; education; health and social service industries in New York City.

The Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) represents nearly 28,000 members in more than 190 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through education, training, research and advocacy. The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.

As stewards of the public trust, Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) International certifies fundraising professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, skills and commitment to the highest standards of ethical and professional practice in serving the philanthropic sector. CFRE International fulfills this mission by establishing and administering a voluntary certification process based on current and valid standards that measure competency in the practice of philanthropic fundraising. The Columbia University Fundraising Management program is a highly focused, rigorous course of study designed to educate students in the essential tools of fundraising management and nonprofit administration.
